Failure Analysis of Radial Runout of Water Roller

In the JS2102 offset double-sided book and offset press, the upper set of water rollers appear radial jump phenomenon during operation, which causes the plate water roller and the water transfer roller to fail to transfer water normally. With the operation of the machine, the string water roller seems to be eccentric when it comes into contact with the plate water roller and the water transfer roller, that is, when the machine jogs until the string water roller contacts the plate water roller, The water transfer roller can be rotated by hand (idle rotation); when the string water roller is in contact with the water transfer roller, the water transfer roller cannot be rotated by hand, and the water roller can be rotated by hand (idle rotation).

Install the dial indicator at the position of the water string roller, and jog the machine to make the water string roller run for one week. The radial runout of the water string roller is measured to be 1 ~ 2mm, and the machine cannot start printing normally. The water string roller itself is not eccentric. Remove the water string roller and remove the shaft heads at both ends of the water string roller. It is found that the shaft head of the water string roller is slightly worn against the operating surface, but it is still not enough to cause the radial jump of the water string roller.

Scenario 1: If the shaft head of the water string roller is bent, the roller body of the water string roller is deformed, and radial runout may occur. Therefore, the shaft head of the water string roller was removed and inspected. As a result, the shaft head was also concentric, and it was impossible to produce radial runout of the water string roller. After reinstalling and turning on the machine, the water roller still jumps radially.

Scenario 2: Because the shaft head of the water stringing roller is matched with the water stringing roller body by two steps on the end surface of the shaft head, four 8mm hex screws are tightened. If you do not pay attention when disassembling the end face of the water string roller shaft head, and encounter burrs or curling, then the water string roller and the shaft head may not be concentric during the assembly process, causing it to jump radially. Excluding the bending of the shaft head and the deformation of the water roller body, only the most likely cause of burrs or curling during the loading and unloading process. Remove the shaft head of the water roller again, and carefully check, and it is found that both ends have different degrees of burrs or curling during the disassembly process.
After finding the cause, use a file to correct the burrs and curling on the end surface of the shaft head and the end surface of the water string roller body. Install the shaft head on the water roller body, be sure to tighten it, and then tighten the screw, everything is normal after starting.
